Up until today I had not been able to find the correct replacement ignition lock cylinder for my sons '89 4Runner- (is it just me?) I've ordered 3 different replacements from various sources and get the wrong one every time. I've found that a lot of the parts for this truck I have to order as an '88 as I know '89 is the cut off for major changes. That did not work either.

I had given up and was going to have the lock shop rebuild mine as the key falls out when driving and and just about any Toyota key will work in it. Had the guy at the lock shop look at it he said he could put new tumblers in it but that would not solve my problem- the cylinder was worn out. He said he had a new one he could sell me- I thought to my self "no you don't". Sure enough he went in the back and came out with the correct replacement. $70.00 OTD.

If anyone else has been unable to find this cylinder post up or PM me and I'll put you on the right track.
