Power Source

Hey guys, I'm installing a Hayden fan on my 89 4Runner, 2.4 22RE and I am trying to find an ignition switch to hook into... I don't want to have to be switching it on and off, so I figured this would be the way to go. I have a thermostat controller for it, but I just can't figure out where to put the ignition wire. Thanks!

Check the fuse box with either a test light or multimeter for a wire with power when the ignition switch is on, and goes out when the switch is off. Tap that wire to trigger the relay on your fan.

You'll have to do this yourself, as there's too many combinations of vehicle wiring scenarios (options, manual or auto, a/c, power stuff, etc.). Its easy enough though, should take you a whole 2 minutes to figure out which wire is switched in the fuse block...
