charging system problems 86 4runmer

So long story short I fried the alternator in my truck, when ordering a new one I had to machine the seat at the lower bracket mounts ...and now I can't seem to get it to charge and before I take back a second alt wanted to exhaust all mother option .

battery is in a trickle charger now.As soon as it's charged I'll run load test on 12v bat to alt pole and charge voltage

this is where I'm at, this black connector on the right has one black wire not hooked to anything...not sure totally anyone with more experience with yota charging systems got any idea

can't seem to up load picture very easily ....without them being taken from a cell phone from 2003

Since you're using imgur you should be able to copy and paste the "BBCode" link. It'll look like [IMG] link.com [/IMG]

Typically the "large thumbnail" option is a pretty decent size since this forum is run by dinosaurs and doesn't auto scale images. I was going to do your pictures for them, but they're wayyyyy too big.

the wire I speak of has a black insulator color and is slightly out of focus in the lower potion of the second picture placed off from the rest of the charging system wiring cluster

There is a black wire, about 12 AWG coming out of the alternator harness that is grounded to where alt mounting bracket mounts.
However, there's a bunch of black wires in your photos. Pls help us help you. A simple arrow would help.
Also, try photobucket; it has been proven to wrk well with T4R.ORG and Yotatech.

Also... why are there two wires connected to your alternator positive terminal screw? Where does that red wire go?
