I have the console. It's the vehicle I need now. The shifter assembly is mounted to a black plastic hump thing. When you remove the console that hump stays with the shifter. My cup holder design wraps around that hump. I need the actual vehicle to make sure it wraps correctly. Right now my design fits perfectly on the console and clears the shifter. It's now just the aesthetics of wrapping around that shifter hump without any weird gaps.

The 4WD manual and 2WD auto or done. I just wont release those on my website until I have the 4WD auto all done. I met up with a local that had a 4WD auto today and took a ton of measurements and test fitted my current prototype. I have quite a few changes that are still needed. I will make those changes tomorrow and test fit again on Tuesday. Hopefully by Friday I will have it all dialed in.

how big can these cup holders go up to? I see a powerade in one pic. I wonder if it'll hold the bigger gatorade bottles. If they come in black though I'll definitely will be in for a manual one

With the black insert removed, you can put a Nalgene bottle in there. that was one of the largest diameter drink containers I could find. The inside diameter of the larger hole is 3.75". Measure the large Gatorade bottle and you will have your answer.

I have been working off of the 1st one but realized there may be two versions I need.

We have a right hand drive KZN130W which has the same console as the bottom picture.

So the local 2nd gen 4WD Auto I used to test fit the last couple prototypes is now gone. After hearing me talk about his 4runner and what they are going for he decided to test the waters on craigslist and sold it over the weekend. I now am AGAIN on the hunt for a 4WD auto 2nd Gen in Socal. I will be going through OC out to Huntington Beach on Wednesday. Will also be out in Chino Hills and Ontario this week. Will also be in Mentone, Redlands, Yucaipa, Big Bear, Forest Falls, Highland, Loma Linda, Grand Terrace, and San Bernardino regularly. Any near any of those areas?

I should add that whoever gives me access to their 2nd Gen 4WD auto will get a free cup holder out of the deal. I'm getting desperate. I just can't seem to find anything local.

Would you be open to me finding the console and plastic hump pieces at a wrecking yard and shipping it? Or does it absolutely need to be installed in the vehicle? Got a yard nearby with some prospective vehicles equipped accordingly

I think the black hump piece thing is attached to the shifter assembly. I'm pretty sure it all needs to be connected to the shifter to stay lined up for test fitting. Maybe I'm wrong. I have not torn apart the interior of a 2nd Gen. The last time I owned a 2nd Gen was the late 90's while going to college.

Alrighty well you very well may be right but I'll tell you what: if I don't hear of your success in your own attempts by the time I can jam to a junkyard and confirm I'll let you know. It's looking like maybe Saturday I'll have a chance to check it out. I feel confident that method will work

Thanks for loaning me that console. I have taken this project to about 90% done because of the measurements I pulled from your console. It fits perfect on the console now and snould be super close to fitting around the black shifter bezel hump. I have a feeling the design I have now is going to be super close if not perfect. I just need to see it installed to verify.

If it's any consolation I'm in no rush for it and honestly excited to be, even in a tiny way, a part of the development, just sad you're having so much trouble finding a local fit rig.
