Cool. Mine looked the same way a week after I bought it.

My buddies: "You been mud-runnin'?"
Me: No, not really, that's from my driveway....

Dual Batteries

Sorry no photos of it, i will take some if you like, my second battery is sitting where the air filter usually goes, I have replaced the big filter with a pod filter and fabricated something for the snorkle

worth it though

my little 4 runner

i cant believe that their is such a good online community on 4runners. i thought i was a lone soldier the battle, but hell no! thanks for making it so much fun. heres some pics of the 87 4runner i got just last night. i haver some plans to weld up a brush guard and raise it and mud it. does anyone have a good idea on what tire is good for some not so hardcore 4 wheelin as you guys, but will pull my ass out of the mud, and has long life? heres some pics before shes going under the knife...

I'm running 31" tires right now. The truck is stock. It is getting a little lift over a bump in the pic so the back looks a little higher. I have a bunch of extra leafs to work with to raise the rear, I looked into adding coils but it sounds like you lose some rear flex with them. Plus I already had the spare leafs, just had to get longer u bolts first. I will post before , during and after pics when I am done with the lift. I would like to go to 33's in the future but I have to do some engine work first and make bumpers and sliders.
This pic shows the ride height better, and my stupid grin too!

i just took the front bumper, mud flaps and running boards off my truck last night, and wow. it now looks WAY better. im also considering throwing 31's on, as opposed to the stock 29's i have. i dont like the fact that a coil over reduces flex, so im thinking about ghetto fixing my rear leafs, by adding blocks under the leafs, and a new leaf or two. i may also weld up some longer shackles if it is necessary. do you have any spare leafs lying around that you dont need? i was thinking if i cant finding any for cheap, just add some homemade spacers in between the leafs out of 1/2" steel plate lying around the welding school i go to, with longer u bolts, or just cram a hockey puck(s) between the leafs. the leafs are totally flat, if not slightly bowed UP. so they are essentially screwed. any suggestions? would an extra leaf and some blocks and maybe some leaf spacers do the cure?

If you have the ability to weld, you should do the 63"chev leaf spring setup. A used set of springs go for around $45 at the wreckers and all you need to do is fab up a spring mount. I pm'd you some info on that a while ago I think. If you still need the links let me know. I took of the rear bumper because it kept getting hung up on things and bending, hope to make a solid bumper soon. The 4Runners also came with a stock option of 31" tires and it is not a bad setup. I am amazed at where my truck will go even with it sitting low in the back. It is a bit of an optical illusion looking at the side view of the truck though. The front wheel well is actually cut higher than the back one.

There has to be a story behind the pink colour (not a spelling mistake, I'm Canadian eh!) you have to tell it. looks like it's in nice shape though.

I bought the truck from a person who had it as collateral on a loan but never was paid. The guy who built it took great care of it. He put alot of time and money into it to make it nice. He always painted his 4x4's and hot rods Hot Pink... When he bought the paint for the runner he got a differant brand and it turned out to be Barbie pink...now it is faded out to a light barbie pink/salmonish. I hope to paint it really soon. All donations are welcome. lol
