1993 V6 occasionally dies at stop signs, has trouble restarting

Just like the title says... I've only had this thing for a week and haven't been out of the neighborhood with it yet because each time I've test driven it it has died at a stop sign and taken a while to get going. I have to give it gas to get it started and it smells like it's flooded. Otherwise, it idles smooth and starts up everytime just fine. Any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?

i had something somewhat similar. althought mine only happened when stopped when it was warm

my signs was the idle was very slow when it was warm and it would stall on stop signs unless i kept the revs above 1k

the issue was a very dirty butterfly valve. after using brake cleaner in the area and making it a lot less gummy the car never stalled again.

Sorry for the delay. It looks like there might be a hiccup with the fuel delivery, possibly leading to a rich mixture and that strong fuel smell. I suggest taking a look at the fuel pressure at the rail and giving the fuel injectors a once-over for any problems.

Also, don't overlook the chance of a vacuum leak, as that can affect idle and cause stalling. Check vacuum lines for cracks or loose connections. And take a peek at the idle air control valve (IAC) and the throttle position sensor (TPS) to make sure they're doing their job right.
