Awesome truck and workmanship. I just finished building a 1995 Limited 3.0 4x4. Drove it from California to Michoacan Mexico for some desert running and a bit of crawling. Left it out there and its still running strong with 205 k on her. These are great rigs.

So I noticed my shifting was getting a little crunchy. I could hardly get it into reverse or 5th.I saw a thread on yotatech about replacing the shifter seat and cap. I ordered the shifter seat and cap it was only like 10$ from Toyota. I was surprised on how good it shifted after I saw the bushing that was in there. After I replaced the seat and cap it was amazing. It is nice and tight and shifts really smooth.

the first pic is of the old and new seat. The one in the front was the one that I pulled out. There was none of green rubber left.As for the cap it was pretty worn to.

So I've developed a high idle. On Cold mornings it idles at 2100 cold then at about 1700 warm. I Cleaned my throttle body and now it idles at 1500 cold and 1200 warm. I also replaced a lot of the vacuum hoses from a kit I got from LCE. Is this normal? what does every one else's truck idle at?

Mine idles at 800-1000 warm and 1300 cold.

Not normal. I'd bet you had a vacuum leak that made it idle low, but now that the hoses are new, your idle has been thrown. I'd adjust the idle down and clean your EGR valve.

Im back and need a little help

Hey there everyone. I have not drove my runner in a little a couple months and she needs some love again. I haven't had time to drive her because of my work hours and I live in a bigger city so I drive my car for better gas mileage. I finally have time to take my favorite whip out and when I started it the other day it was making some funky noises from the timing cover.I'm guessing that it's from the tensioner and idler bearing that we took from my spare runner like half a year ago. I have all of the parts now. I was just wondering if anyone had some good tips and tricks for replacing it. If not does anyone have a good thread I could look at?

90-95 Toyota 4Runner Factory Service Repair Manual

That’s an online manual you can follow. I didn’t read your entire thread, but there are probably some “while you’re in there” items that should be replaced.

I'd suggest taking a good look at the timing belt to be sure it's running true.
If something is out of alignment on the idlers it will push the belt forward or back and it will start eating itself up. BTDT.

So I haven't posted her for awhile. My 4runner was resting while I got some time to work on her. I started my timing belt and it seems the one of the bolt holes for the water pump is stripped out. What could I do to fix it do I have to re tapp it or is there a little sleeve I could get? Any help is appreciated

Hey, afternoon. I'm in need of some help. I replace my timing belt and water pump and it went well but after about a month it started spraying anti freeze on the bottom of the hood and it started peeling paint. it was also overheating after a couple mins of driving. Would this be a symptom of a bad water pump? or maybe something different... If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Take a few pics of the engine from different angles. Front, sides...

Did you get all the air out?
Air in there can allow steam to build.
