No worries there. This thing won’t see 1/4 of the load it would see being used in a towing application. These hold more oil too since the bearings get oiled from the diff.

Found some motivation to get some stuff done.

IFS pulled out

Got the liquid wrench out and started cutting all the frame mounts off.

Mounted the front hanger and I think I’m going to keep it set to the rear. My springs are already center pin forward.

I think it went company wide. On my 2000 LC when the door opens the map lights stay off. If your door is shut, map lights only- unless you want to reach back and turn the midship on in the headliner.

Progress and changes..

Well I decided to go with a manual so I swapped the th400 np205 and got a nv4500 5 speed and an atlas 4 speed.

I got the front end setup with a Detroit and Yukon 5.13, Yukon chomo 35 spline inners and outers with Yukon super joints, barnes 4wd high steer arms.

The rear now has a Yukon spool and 5.13s with Chromo axles.

Got some used 63” Chevy springs from a friend and I found some used 5” non-hd trail gear springs local. The front spring hanger is now burned in and shackles are set.

The engine is just about rebuilt, got a Texas speed cam, pushrods, and valve springs for it. All said and done it should be around 450hp.

I bought an industrial sand blast cabinet so small parts cleanup has been a breeze.

I’m hoping the new combination will allow me to not run a body lift. I’ve been doing measurements and it’s going to be tight but possible.

Little progress. Got the rear end pulled, and started courting out the frame brackets.

Did some upgrades on the engine.
Texas speed cam, valve springs, pushrods and new valve seals. Need to get some parts painted and round up some parts. Engine is just about done.

On my '90 4Runner, the rear window console switch works fine. But the key switch on the tailgate will only lower the window...it won't raise it. Toyota dealer is clueless as to how to fix it.

Do you have any suggestions? I'd love to hear them.

You need to check the green wire with red stripe inside the rear door. That’s your up wire from the key. When you hold the key in the up position that wire should be grounded. If it doesn’t, the wire or switch might be bad.

A little progress. I try to do at least one thing a day.

Got the engine 90% done. Built the new harness and got most of the components on. Still need headers and accessory brackets. Gonna wait until I get the engine in to order some things. Need to measure for room.

I currently have the transmission torn apart to freshen it up and paint it.

I also got a new boat, so a lot of weekend time has been on the water. It’s got a bmw in-line 6 and a rarer than hens teeth bmw z-drive.

Engine looks good. This is going to be a very nice 2nd gen. Mine is gone. Wish I could have had this work done to it. Have fun with the boat.
