1995 4runner

Hello, I am looking at a 1995 4runner V6 for sale, it has 62,000 miles on it and its in really good shape. The guy is asking $6200 for the truck. I really don't no much about them so I need some help. First is there any specific problems with the 4runners that I should look for? Also What do you guys think about the price?

That is low miles for a 95 does he have any kind of records to back up such low miles.

The biggest problem with the 2nd gen. V6 is the Head gasket recall make sure it was done.

there is also a relay rod recall see if that was done.

the 3.0L does not get the best MPG I average about 17MPG

If taken care of you can get 250K+ out of the engine.

They are good trucks...

Mike

For that much money I'd be on the verge of getting the 1 step newer model. I have the 95 and its nice but is lacking in some departments that the newer model has taken care of.

I just bought a 1995 last month. Is there any way I can find any info on those recalls or any recalls?

Your right about the milage its not that great.

I get about 260 to 270 miles to the tank and that's freeway miles.

You can call any Toyota dealer and give them your VIN and they should be able to tell you if the head gasket replacement was done.

Just to let you know...I just had to get a new motor for '94. My mechanic recommended trying to get some help from Toyota with that same recall. The dealer in my area said the last time they did that was in 1998.
