T4R first gen - Hard top reinforcement for a roof tent

Hi Guys,
Do you know a way to reinforce the hard top of a Toyota 4Runner? I'd like to install a roof tent for 2 persons on it.
The photo attached shows an interesting option, but I don't know how the owner bolted the hard top to the cabin.
Maybe an interior hard top reinforcement?
Do you have other ideas?

Looks like they have bolted the frame between the hardtop and the body and it's just an external frame that doesn't touch the hardtop at all. When I bought my truck the owner gave me two bars that bolt on this way and sit outside the hardtop, to bolt a full length roof rack to. I can get some pics if you want?
