Not original, but possibly better.

Has that Landcruiser feeling.

Will order some soon! Very cool dude!

Got mine a few days ago, and I was VERY impressed. They fit perfectly into the cutouts on the garnishes, and look so much better than what I had, as you'll see.

I'm restoring my rig. With any restoration of an older vehicle, you're going to run into needed parts that are discontinued/no longer available. Options?

Aftermarket---depending on the item, if you can find it, will it be worth a shite?

Used---for a 30 year old rig, what condition will the part be in?

The final option is fabrication, to which in this case, is a no-brainer. I have NO issues with the fact that these emblems aren't Genuine Toyota Parts. In fact, as a 17 year parts guy for a Toyota dealer, I think the factory should have made the emblems more like these. Again, I'm VERY impressed with Brad's work.

Here's some before & after pics, driver's side before & after, followed by passenger's side...

Due to the success of the 1st Gen B-Pillar badges and the constant (and annoying) requests for the matching Hilux Surf B-pillar badges; we decided to go ahead and develop the Surf badges. We are officially releasing the Hilux Surf B-Pillar badges today. I know this is a mainly US crowd but I figured there is probably some international guys on there that would be interested. Here is the link for the Surf B-Pillar badges on our site:

For the international crowd; here is the link to the Surf B-Pillar badges on our etsy page (where we do all international shipping)

Here's some pics of how they turned out.

Thank you for the handful of orders for the new Surf badges. Those will go out in the mail today. I'm assuming at least some of those orders are from folks here. If possible please post or message me pics of them installed. I would really like installed pics I can use on the website.

These are very nice and I will definitely pick up a set. Has anybody had issues with the bare aluminum corroding or are these clear coated?

I have the very first aluminum prototype badges on my cruisers from 5 years ago and no corrosion BUT I'm in Socal so we don't have much rust out here. There may be slight white chalky corrosion over time if your along the coast. We don't clear coat our badges but your more than welcome to do so. We try to keep our cost down and for most folks, clear coating isn't needed for aluminum so it's just an unnecessary extra cost. We also clear coat on request for a small fee all the time. Another option to consider.

These are great - I'd buy a Gen1 just to run these badges!

Emblem pix

Not the B-Pillar style, but I ordered one of the 'Aluminum Retro' 4 wheel drive emblems pictured below from Brad Hicks and it's a really nice piece. As you can see it has 3 recessed adhesive strips. I don't care about being period-correct, and since my 2nd Gen has no emblems on the tailgate at all, I thought I should buy it a piece of jewelry. A 3rd picture refuses to upload that show some very subtle machining marks under the creme paint that you can't see unless you have it in front of your face and don't matter a bit - just thought I'd show it but cannot. I also see that there is some dark stuff in the recesses of the lettering that is due to me rubbing in on my black jeans for some reason before i took the pic. Really nicely made. One caveat to 2nd-Genners: the emblem is perfectly flat - your tailgate isn't for the most part, which will limit your install spot choices somewhat. I haven't popped it on yet but will find somewhere for it.

Thanks, Brad!
