Something popped in the front end

Out wheeling this weekend and something in the front end popped and the left wheel will not engage. 3.0 5 speed, converted to Warn manual locking hubs, spartan locker in the front, 5.29 gears.
I took the hub apart hoping that broke, it did not. So I put the front end on jacks locked both hubs turned the driver's wheel and it will turn the axle shaft but not the drive shaft nor the passenger wheel. I turn the passenger wheel and it will turn the drive shaft.
I cannot hear any clicking or any sounds from the diff, so I'm assuming the internals are fine. When I converted to manual hubs, I locked the shafts with a clamp. When I turn driver side wheel, again no sounds/clicking of any kind.
Since the hub and CV shafts are fine, where do I look next?
Thanks for the help
Mike

Did you look inside the diff to see what was going on in there?

I have not yet, but my previous experience tells me with no noise coming from the diff, the internals should be fine. Again, Spartan locker in there too, pretty sure it hasn't failed.
Any other ideas?

I'm guessing you broke or stripped the axle right by the splined section where it connects to the diff. You really are going to have to dig into it. Start at the easy to inspect parts. If you can get a look into the diff, maybe through a drain hole, and see if things are turning or where they stop turning. Are there any clips or pins that hold the axle into the center section or the spider gears that may have popped off? I've been into other diffs and not the 4 runner so some of this may vary.

Ahlem, thanks!
I have a locker, so no spiders. I pulled the 3rd member out, looks like the stub shaft sheared off, not 100% sure but that is where I'm at right now, will update in a couple days.

Found the issue

I'm going to replace it with a non-ADD tube and shaft

While you are looking for parts might as well look for a set of stock IFS Aisin hubs to replace your Warn hubs.
Unlike their winches Warn hubs have a habit of breaking too

Thanks for that info, last time at the yard I was looking for some Aisins, didn't find any, but found some Warn's and pulled the internals for spares. When I go today, I will look again for some Aisins.

Thats an impressive break there, usually youll toast a cv before the stub shaft breaks. Good call on the non add tube.

Youll want the warn hub bodies for spares, not the internals. Haha. The hub bodies are are the weak part

Its all about the parts you break, and the friends you make.
