Ha, yea. Guess I need to invest in some wheel locks. Anyone have any luck with certain brands? I know Gorilla makes a set for $70 or so that makes every lug nut a locking one. Not impossible to get off, but sure as hell would take a long time.

If they want the truck they are going to take it, but we can make the process complicated.

Wheel locks
Steering wheel lock
Pedal lock
Dropzone's transfer lock
A couple of kill switches
GPS tracker
A big pitbull in the backseat
A decapitation device

Great news, glad to hear it.

My '88 was stolen from my driveway back in 2010. Got her back a week later, not stripped too bad. $600 got her back up to snuff.
I now have a kill switch hidden under the dash. It's wired between the coil and the distributor. I also made room in my garage when I got her back, so she NEVER sits out all night anymore.

Oops, I meant it's wired above the coil, so between it and the igniter?

Yes, kill switchES, but don't publish where you hide them. Forums are required reading in Car Theft 101 - LOL!

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

"Under the dash" is a very vague description. Believe me, it took me the better part of two weeks to be able to find the switch every time when it was first installed. If anyone wants to TRY to steal it again, they better have a flatbed tow-truck...and they better decide if my rig is worth their life... ;)

I had a 67 oldsmobile with a kill switch but it was wired to the coil. I would recommend it. I know you will sleep better.

This is genious, if you had 4 switches that had to be in the right sequence, that would be 2*2*2*2 (2 positions per switch) so that's 16 different combos. The average theif would probably not understand how it works and how to correctly go through every sequence, you could even throw some fake ones in there to confuse the hell out of him lol.

Thanks everyone! Bit of a delay on updating this thread. I installed a kill switch (somewhere) and I feel much better about that. Only my good friend and I know where it is, and let me tell you...it's not where you think.

I got some one of those locking lug-nuts for every lug, but I've had my tired rotated a couple of time and the guy didn't seem to happy to have to deal with a locker on every nut. I may replace some of them so there are only 2 per wheel.

Any advice on how to lock out the spare? It's easy to just undo. I have KO2s on there, so it's not as pricey as what was on there before. Hoping my rig isn't as 'tasty' to thieves.

I actually bailed out of socal and moved back to TN. If anyone is around there, let's meet up and hit a trail!!
