Fuel pump bs

I just bought a 94 4runner with the v6 3.0. I just wanted to know what signals the fuel pump to come on

Fuel pump activates when the engine is cranking. On the 1st gen., there is a plug nest to the AFM you can jump to get the pump going.

You can also unlatch their air filter box and push the vafm door with a screwdriver or some sort of elongated objected. It will cause the fuel pump to operate. Make sure ignition is in on position
