I checked. No codes. I let it run for a minute then disconnected the temp sensor and it seemed to run fine during my test so I’m thinking it is the sensor. Just remembered I have a brand new toyota sensor in my 4runner that isn’t being used so I think I’m going to try and put it in the pickup and see if the problem goes away.
If not I’m thinking maybe tps since on one of my last drives it started to wake up a bit when I floored it. If its not talking to the computer I’d imagine it wouldn’t allow the engine to go unless it could really tell the throttle body was open. Honestly I’m grasping at straws on that one but the 4runner has a good sensor so its easy enough to remove and check. Something’s gotta work eventually right?
