93 wont go over 10 mph?

It also won’t go over any kind of simple hill/bumps in the yard.

YouTube

Torque converter is new. Suggestions on what to check first?

Did you just swap the torq converter? Did you pre fill it? Enough fluid in the trans? Does the engine rev all the way up in neutral?

What have you checked already?

Its all about the parts you break, and the friends you make.

A buddy wanted my parts truck and I was working a ridiculous amount of hours so I traded the truck for the installation of the torque converter. He definitely has tons of experience and I have faith it was done correctly.

The engine will rev to about 5000, but I didn't attempt to max it out

This is what is sounded like in June 2019, after I replaced the spark plugs/wires/distributor cap and a new battery. The truck was gifted to me not running.

OH and I also had my buddy pull the transmission out of the donor truck and swap it since he was already down there and had to pull everything out anyways. The reason being is that once I got her running (June of 19, right after I got her) she wouldn't go in reverse at all, just acted like it was in neutral... Maybe this trans is bad too? I honestly haven't checked anything yet, I just flat towed her from his house the other day, with craziness at work I haven't had the time but I do now. The goal is to have her running well by the end of summer, but we will see. That first video she's also running on 3 year old gas, plan to drain and get either a new fuel tank or have the old one hot tanked depending on cost/condition of the old one

ETA: This is also my first vehicle that I've done anything other than drive, so its a learning experience for me lol

Any CELs?

I almost want to go around the engine bay with a can of brake cleaner and see if there's any leaks.

I know that's a very long shot in the dark.

Can you explain further? Or point me in the right direction of some research? I have both a Chiltons and a FSM, if either of those could help me figure it out? Or google search terms? I searched solenoid but its very vague lol (Like I said I'm a super newbie)

Yes, Vac leaks. Like I said, it's just a guess and it's probably wrong, but if you have brake cleaner laying around and while the engine runs see if something gets triggered (revs will change).

Edit: It's easier than most other diagnostic methods ☺

Any possibility this could be caused by burnt exhaust valves?

Just remembered, the only light on the dash that is on is the O/D off light. Idk if that makes a difference or not

So I've been doing some research and I think you've got it. I'm going to replace the lockup and both shift solenoids and see if that fixes the issue.
