Another CRANK NO START thread HELP!!

So here's the deal. I have 92 3.0 T4R. it died on me while driving one day after getting the head gaskets repaired along with the timing belt and water pump. I've got spark and fuel. I replaced the fuel pump, circut open relay, efi relay, AFM, and fuel filter. But still wont start. It will crank and start for a brief second and that's it. I pulled the plugs and found them to be dry. I pulled the fuel line at the regulator and I'm getting fuel to that point. I'm not sure of the pressure as I dont have a tester. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? Thanks

You say it will start briefly and then die, one thing you can try to see if indeed it's fuel related is to have someone try and start it while you spray little short bursts of ether/starting fluid into the intake, just don't over do the ether, if it continues to run briefly from the short sprays of ether then you have narrowed it down to a fuel issue.

If it still remains the same, then the issue is weak spark, bad compression and or timing.

I did the starting fluid this morning after this post. It will run as long as you keep spraying it. Once you stop it dies. Only thing thing left really is the fuelmpressure regulator I believe

Before buying any more parts I would check fuel pressure at the rail after the regulator and that the fuel injectors are getting a proper signal.

Many auto part stores will loan out testers/tools for free but may require a small deposit.

I am having the same issue. Just did a frame swap on my 93 T4R and now she will start for a second and then just die. Will try starter fluid tomorrow. Thanks for this thread!

How did you check the wires? I’ve done pretty much everything you have done.
New pump, filter, getting fuel to the rail and runs when I spray fuel.

New to me ‘92 for my 16 yr old son. It’s been fun working on it so far but getting it running would be great!
