U joint replacement

No build thread for the 1988 4Runner so I'll just have to post updates as standalones like this until I get around to it.

The u joints were replaced by a NAPA place about 15 years ago and finally got enough slack in them I decided to fix them. Trail Gear sells this Matsuba kit which appears to be high quality and Japanese.

Added my spline zerk delete mod which uses a brass filter vent keeping dirt out but letting the splines move free without air pressure. Ford blue PTFE grease used on splines.

Neat idea with the breather.

Mine all just get sheared off.

Its all about the parts you break, and the friends you make.
