Help! Identify Engine Leak below EGR

Hi All,

I've got a 91' here w/ ~171k miles. Picked it up a couple weekends back, was misfiring all over the place and had some pretty loose steering.
Took it to my mechanic for ~$3k in work...
Brakes (all around), Power Steering reseal (had a leak), Tie Rods, Idle Arm, spark plugs, spark plug wires (old ones were melted to EGR), fuel filter, all fluids.

On a cold start there's a good amount of white smoke blowing out lasting ~15-30seconds. This does smell somewhat sweet so I was very concerned about the Head Gasket. BUT! Around 130k miles the previous owner blew the HG had it replaced and heads resurfaced.

There's some oil leaking right below the EGR Pipe between plug #1 and #3 and looking through some repair manuals I cannot identify where this is coming from. Its a very slow leak (drops 1-2 drips onto concrete / day).

Anyone know where this is leaking from?

Update --

I think its the Valve Cover Gasket that is breaking down and causing the leak.

just because the head gasket was replaced 40k miles ago doesn’t mean it can’t be failing now. the white smoke and sweet smell should be concerning. testing is in order.

you’ve already spent big bucks, you might be spending more...

White smoke can mean only one thing....Head Gasket. Pull your radiator cap and check for oil in the coolant. Next do a compression test. Just because the HG was replaced does not mean that it was done right. It's possible the cylinder heads needed to be surfaced and were not. Sorry for the bad news, but it's not looking good.
