rain leaks; not sunroof, not windshield

Hi all

trying to find a relatively new but very bad rain/water leak and wondering what others experiences are.

It was the windshield a few years ago. it cracked anyway, had it ripped out, sanded down and painted all the rust where the sealant/gasket go. no leaks since. Last year it started leaking again and we thought it was the windshield. they just pressure tested it and don't get air around the windshield.
I blew out the sunroof drains, which were draining water just fine.

When it rains the water appears at the front outside of both front footwells.
when we spray the car down with a hose, it doesn't do this.

on other cars i've had leaks form when leaves or other debris fill up the cowl/drip tray near the fresh air intake under the windshield wipers. but on both sides?!

thoughts?

thanks!

the gutter drip channels along the a-pillar and roof. the seam sealer fails and cracks, and water comes in along the inside of the a-pillar, and drips down on the ecu (passenger side) and fuse panel (driver side).

This^^^ Happened to mine.
I cleaned gutters down to bare metal, treated with flowed Permatex rust converter into gaps I could not reach, sealed with seam sealer (I suggest you try "3M Dynatron Auto Seam Sealer Caulk, 550, Grey, 12 oz" from amazon. I used the AC-Delco sealer but it takes DAYS to dry), primed and painted.
I almost filled the A-pillar gutter with seam sealer. In my book the gutters are pointless and poorly done (newer cars have no issues without it, Yotatech's Arlindsay removed his A Pillar gutters.) :
The roof gutter has an opening into the vehicle. If seam seal breaks down or is damaged by roof rack mount, it would wick water into the truck.
The A-pillar gutter is spot welded outside when seam seal breaks down it causes rust to eat through the the A-pillar and leak will drip right in ECU area.

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.
