Question 1990 4runner

I just bought a 90 4runner with an enigine only 180 thousand km on it, with only one problem the tranny needs to be changed. Is it worth the effort that I get it changed? or is it likely that everything will brake on it shortly after? I don't know much about these years of 4runners, I wanted a reliable truck and I'm crossing my fingers that it is for that it is my only way of transportation. Everything else is new on it from the suspension to the brakes to the carpet on the interior. Please someone give me there insight on this and let me know if this truck is a worth while investment or if i should get rid of it before spending any money on it.

Shaun

I'd find a used or rebuilt tranny or get yours rebuilt.
A good idea to put a new clutch in at the same time.
