Just entered into the world of 1st gens

Well, it happened. My wife and I just bought a 1st gen last night after searching for about a year. One popped up on OfferUp and we went for it.

It's an 1988, 3.0, manual with about 250,000 miles on the odometer. It's going to need some love, let's get serious, lots of love.

I drove it home with the windows all rolled down, eh, they don't work, they were down on their own, but it drove great! What a difference from our 3rd and 4th gen 4Runners.

Here's a quick off the top of the head list of things that will be needed:
-Fix all the windows - currently they are all off-track
-Turn signals don't work
-voltmeter doesn't work (not critical IMO)
-Tachometer doesn't work (also not critical)
-Temperature gauge doesn't work
-Half the dash lights don't work
-Remove the crap alarm
-Figure out why the fancy double din doesn't turn off
-rear dif is leaking a smidge
-Engine doesn't run entirely smooth so I'll have to look into that
-Timing belt and all it's goodies

But the important parts are the road legal things: registration, turn signals.

I'll get pictures up soon.

Even if it needs work... key thing is that you drove it home and that's a huge plus!!

The double din probably doesn't turn off because wired wrong. Try switching the red and yellow connections around
