88 4runner charging issue

Ok so i need some help i have an 88 4runner that wont charge even though it says its charging.. i can fully charge the battery on a battery charger and it will start and run fine put my multi meter on it says its charging. But it still sputters and dies than it acts like the battery is dead says its fully charged but when it cranks drops to like 6-8 volts. Battery is new and has been tested as good. I cleaned up the grounds and change both battery terminals. The alternator is also new. Any help is appreciated.

A well-stated problem is almost solved. How do you know that the battery says it is fully charged?
Do voltage checks described in this post, then tell us what is different on your truck. (How Charging System Works - 22RE - YotaTech Forums)

A picture paints a thousand words.
Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.
