Help finding out what this random wire goes to under the dash on a 95 SR5

Hey everyone, new to this forum, my girlfriend a few months back bought a 95 SR5 and it was in really rough shape, previous owner did not take care of it at all

I stuck my head under the dash and found a harness disconnected from the left side of the dash, her oil pressure gauge doesn't work and her temp guage just stays below half even when the truck is started

I also found a wire that looks like a metal circle coming out of a black wire from under the right side of the dash right where your right foot would be, it almost kinda looks like what a battery cable looks like but smaller

Any help would be great, I can post a picture of the part I'm talking about

To me it looks like a cluster of wires going to it?

I would think it's a negative wire which goes to a grounding point.

Have you tried grounding it to the body/frame anywhere?

Spooky

In all honestly I would ground it and see if anything changes it looks like a pretty convincing ground wire. If your car starts to act funky then take it off obviously but somehow tracing the wire back might help because the size looks near amp ground cable size but I'm not an electrician or a certified 4runner technician so.

So I found out a good place to ground it, the last screw on the bottom of the dash has a bracket and you can thread the screw thru and put the ground wire on it and screw it in

My question is, what exactly is this ground wire for?? I just got the speedo cable done and fixed my code 42 and my mechanic didn't know what it went to either
