Window Switch

‘89 4Runner Window Switch. Can anyone help me on how to remove this switch panel? Do I need to remove the door card?

I’m thinking I have a bad contact. Passenger window works, door lock works and when I press the up button, it’s drawing power because the door light dims. However, it doesn’t dim when I press down.

I’ve owned the truck for 20 years. I’m not mechanically inclined, which is why I enjoy owning a Toyota. Appreciate any insight.

just pry up gently on the switch assembly, no need to remove the door card.

Thanks Wally. Any particular place to start or clips to look out for? After over 30 years, the plastic is brittle.

Don't attempt to pry that switch out of the door card....ask me how I know this....Those are screwed in from below and require you to pull the door card to access. That entire switch disassembles as one piece. When I cleaned mine up, I used 1000 grit sandpaper on the contacts followed by a pencil eraser. Everything works flawlessly now. If your door card plastic clips break or are missing, Toyota has the stock replacements at a reasonable cost, so much so that I bought enough to repair both doors if necessary.
