Slow/Sticky rear window track

I finally managed to part out the '88 I bought for the transmission and was lucky enough to have found an additional tailgate in the backseat with a spotless window, regulator and motor. I removed the window and regulator from the tailgate and installed them in my truck, but it's a little sticky going up.

I'm fairly sure that the problem is resistance where the reglator connects to the window. Are the little nylon 'rollers' supposed to spin, or stay solid? And what should I use to lubricate the track and rollers? I'm fairly sure the window has not been used for a few years as it was in a tailgate not on a truck, but it is not rusted at all, and I think it just needs to be greased.

The rollers are suppose to turn. Try spaying them with PB Blaster to loosen them up. I also put some syn grease on the tracks to ease with the rolling of the rollers. Also make sure all the wires/connections are out of the way especially the big white connector plug that powers your licence plate lights. That can rub on the glass if not correctly installed.

A little WD-40 did the trick, and I'm thinking it may just be a weak motor... Lucky I've still got a spare to try just in case.

Glad to hear it works. Remember too if you ever need another motor for the rear window you can use an 90 to 95 rear window motor too.

Yeah, I do have a spare, as I had bought an '88 for the transmission and stripped a bunch of parts to sell on ebay, including a regulator, motor, and window. My original regulator is a bit rusted out, and the window track is shot, but the motor is still good, so I intend to keep it for a spare.
