Dead 88 T4R
I bought an 88 a few weeks ago, it's in decent shape body wise, and it ran fine as well. The rear hatch glass was missing, and none of the functions for the rear worked. As well the interior lights didn't work and there was a mess of wires jumped at the ign switch.
I was able to get everything working (minus the rear hatch) and was able to drive it around without any issues. I brought it back to my garage from home (I'm a resto-custom tech) and left it outside while I worked inside. That day was particularly foggy and wet. I went to start the truck to head home, it ran for about 35 sec, then turned off, and refused to start.
The ecu is not getting voltage, the fuel pump is not getting power. and I am not getting spark. I've bypassed the ecu and fuel as a test, but I am still not able to get a spark. it does crank with no issues.
I am being tossed wht I believe are code 14 and 51 (which is AC and I don't have it) from the communications port.
I'm about ready to scrap it, or toss in a carb'd v8
I'd like to just get it running but I'm tearing my hair out, I've got all the technical documents as well as the mitchell manuals (from the garage) and they are telling me it's a dead ecu (if you fallow the yes/no trees)
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
James
