Rear rust, what to look for when buying?

Looking at few 1st gens for a second car to play around with. I also have a 4.7 4th gen that I use as my daily, but have always wanted a 1st gen. Some have rust in my area (southeast), but wondering how bad the rust is on the following. Looks like this is the rear crossmember above the rear tire slot. Wondering how bad this is? Fixable? Not even sure the part # but looks like Rear Cross-Member - Toyota (5129135080).

Anything else to look out for outside of leaks, and timing chain on these 22re?

With that much rust underneath I'd be really worried about the frame. That's a serious problem on these, rusts from the inside out so you don't see it until it's really bad. Especially over the rear wheels and anywhere the frame turns from horizontal to up/downward.
