Question Rear Axle 91 T4R 'Third Member' gear ratio

Ive removed the third member... the rear axle gears... from my old '91 T4R and have it for sale... only i don't know what the gear ratio is.

Is there a way to determine it...? I can't find it stamped, or on a name plate.

any help would be appreciated.

ps i have several parts from the 91 that are 4sale. front seats, air sensor, computer, rear door w/glass, door wiring harnesses, door mechanisms ie, window motors, window glass

Easiest way to do it if you have the 3rd out is to count the teeth on the ring and divide it by the number of teeth on the pinion.

Chances are you either have

41/10=4.10
41/9=4.56

or if you're one of the lucky few
39/8=4.88

Go here for more information than you could have ever wanted to know...

Counted the gears...

thanks for the suggestions... the body that the 3rd member came from went to the crusher back in April... so reading the bar codes didnt work. Since i had it out, it was east to count the teeth... Doh!...
41/9 for a 4.56

I have it, and the whole rear axle for sale, if anyone is interested.

It's a lot easier to sell a 4.56 or a 4.88 than it is to sell the 4.10. You're lucky to have it.

I don't need it, but if you post it on the classified over at ttora or yotatech I bet you'll unload it pretty quickly. Guys running 33's with 5 speeds are always looking for a used 4.56.
