Fuel Pump Problem?

Any suggestions on how I can tell I have a bad fuel pump, without just changing it?

I pulled the cold start injector, and jump the diagnostic port, I get nothing.

I checked the fuses. Could it be a bad ECU? Or Relay?

HELP!!!!

1989 V6

thank you!

what leads you to think you have a fuel pump issue?

I pulled the cold start injector, and jump the fule pump on the diag. port.

No fuel.

the truck won't start.

I can get it to sputter if I use starting fluid, so I assume it is not spark.

Is there a common problem with the 3.0 that would keep it from starting?

Well, you could run 12V directly to the pump, put your ear to the tank, and listen for the hum.

FYI - I had some rust around the windshield, apparently leaking H2O into the cab, it got on the EFI relay under the dash and rusted it out.

$35 later from NAPA, and the truck fired right up!!!!

thanks everyone (and Toyota's factory service manual) for your help!

Vinny
