Here's my project................ 1990 4Runner, straight front axle, conversion front lift w/bilsteins all aorund, high pinion diff, 4.88's, Chevy 63" springs, next is the 3.4 swap this spring.
Peppernation is my father and finished the engine swap along with his build. He passed away a little over a year ago and used to drive this until i got a 3rd gen tacoma last year. It's still an absolute blast to drive and don't know if I should keep it or what to do.
I would post pictures of it still looking amazing but everytime I try to upload a picture it fails to do so. Any ideas?
FS:NEED ADVICE ON 2nd Gen - Classic T4R - $7K - 134K miles, Los Angeles, CA
Hoping for advice here.. I bought a 1995 T4R for $7K with 134K miles on it in Los Angeles, CA through a private buyer. He had claimed that the car was in "excellent" condition, no accidents. Carfax looked great.
I took it to a shop this am and they looked at it and told me it's in bad shape. Transmission is no good, the rear differential bearings are shot, the shocks are worn out on it .. the mechanic said it looks like it's been in a front and rear accident because the radiator is wrapped where it should be bolted, etc. etc. It's bad.
I had taken to a mechanic before buying it for a pre-purchase inspection through a referral of the seller (i know, i know.. first time buyer over here, learned my lesson).
I don't think this guy is going to give my money back and i'm looking to recoup some of my losses. Any ideas where I could sell this and get some money back? I'm in Santa Monica.
Just picked up this 93 with 50k on a new engine. Doing the water pump and timing belt next week. It’s all stock besides the engine. OD reads 292k I’ve replaced the stock front shocks and am prepping to replace the rear coils and shocks to eliminate the sag. It was in very well maintained condition and it’s a present for the wife as she wrecked her car a while back. After the 3.0 blows up I’ll be swapping in a 3.4. The first appearance mod was removing the factory decals next I’ll be swapping in an 83 truck grill. Here’s some pics. Errrrrr nvm can’t upload pics? Lame....Likely my phone images are too large to upload. I’m not changing my camera settings to upload here.
