Need to Replace/Upgrade Suspension

This thing takes bumps and potholes pretty hard. I get the impression that it's time to replace shocks/struts in my '90 T4R 4x4 w/ 31x10.5's (not stock tire).

My question is, what does this Yota have originally? How much is this gonna cost? And any tips on installation?

Thanks

How much it costs is a matter of how much you want to spend, if it were my 4Runner i would replace the springs and shocks because there almost 20 yrs old. The cost will depend on the quality of the parts you buy. (DON`T BUY CHEAP PARTS, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR).

What parts on the suspension tend to go bad first?

I just ripped a boot on my front axle, so I will have to replace that.

What about tie rod ends, a-arms, etc..

It's really hard to say what would go first, a lot depends on how it was treated in the past and the mileage.

But I would say shocks definetly, and the steering idler arm wears to the point that there currently is a Service Campaign on it.

TRE's, BJ's, rear leaf packs, and T-bars could be next.

Oh, as for upgrading the suspension, if you looking for a good ride and handling, nothing beats an Old Man Emu suspension kit.
