Hey all. My name is Jeff, I live in Topeka, KS, and I just purchased an '88 4Runner this last Thursday. 3.0L V6, 5 speed, power rear window works, cruise works, a/c works, shifts ok, starts alright, 31" tires, $900. I think it has Rancho steering stabilizer and shocks all around, not 100% sure though. I know the front shocks and stabilizer are Rancho. Anyways, I've just got a few questions so I'll just number them lol.
1. Anyone selling a used, good condition 4-6" suspension lift? And if not know where I can find a good quality but low priced one?
2. What size tires could I fit with 4-6" lift?
3. Recommended gearing?
4. Any idea's for an aftermarket exhaust?
5. Cheap and easy power adders?
6. What are the weak spots on the '88 T4R's?
7. What are my options for beefing up rear ends and what not?
8. Can anyone give me a general idea of how to wire some off road lights up front? (previous owner cut the wires for some reason?)
9. Anywhere I can get the general specs for 1st gen's? (hp, torque, fuel tank size, etc)
10. And last but not least, are there any stickers for this site lol?
Thanks for any help you can give guys. I appreciate it. I had/have (trying to sell) an '89 Bronco II I picked up for $400. Every time we get one thing fixed, another goes out. I'm tired of dealing with it and I've wanted a 1st Gen 4Runner since I was like 8. Then this one plopped into my lap. Here's some pics
Thanks for lookin guys. I plan on being around for quite awhile and I hope to make tons of friends
