Havin some engine problems. . .
Ok, I have a 3.0L V6 with 5 speed. When I start the truck after its been sitting for awhile it won't rev above 1000 RPM. I put it in gear and let out on the clutch and it barely moves. Then after a minute or two of this, its fine. Any ideas?

Sounds similiar to my problem after a heavy rain. I have an automatic, but it won't rev and won't shift until it warms up and dries out, then it's fine. Try spraying the inside of the distributor and cap and wires with WD40. If that helps, it is probably condensation or moisture and possibly a bad wire or hairline crack in the cap.

Actually I'm about to change the cap, rotor, wires, plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and possible tranny fluid. So we'll see

How did it go? I still can't get a handle on it. All the wires, cap an rotor are new now and it still runs like crap after heavy rain. Hope you had better luck.

We haven't had a real heavy rain since. It still idles weird and my oil pressure seems low after lots of driving

From what I have read, the low oil pressure is pretty normal for this engine. Mine is low after the oil heats up too.

Check your coil wire and the ignition wires leading to the coil. Moisture in the wiring harness and connectors can cause the problems you are describing.

Try cleaning the MAF sensor.

Mass air flow sensor. It may be called something different on the early engines but it is doing the same job. It's located in the throttle body after the air filter and before the throttle butterfly. It will be the only thing with wires running to it in that area.
