Exclamation 2 Problems - 1 old (leaking) , 1 new (electrical?)

Been awhile since i have gotten a chance to surf the forums, so Im just gonna throw you guys some questions.

1. I have had this 91 4x4 4runner for over a year now and have always had a problem with the sunroof. It doesn't work (not my issue this evening) so I have to manually slide it back and forth. It also has a problem to where it does not "go up" and make a proper seal. What ever pushes into the up position is defective and any advice on how to solve that problem would be helpful. This particular sunroof also leaks...ALOT! I have tried all kinds of things. Currently i have it wedged upward with wooden blocks and have yet to find the drain holes to clean them out. But wen ever it rains, the rain collects in my headliner and drips out while im driving, turning, stopping..etc...and this is always impressive when driving around with my girlfriend *sarcasm* :upset:. It is starting to smell in there now too. My main concern is fixing this without having to seal the sunroof as a permanatly...cause you all with working sunroofs know how much fun they can be in hot weather. Any feed back would be awesome.

2. Just today i have had some dash lights come on...for no reason ofcorse but to annoy me. When I start the truck, the Parking light, battery light, and A/T temp light come on...and stay on.....UNTIL i start accelerating. They go off when accelerating and come back on when I let of the gas pedal. Driving through a neighborhood they come on and off constantly. When I get on the interstate and a high speed for a long time, they go off and stay off....until i get off the highway and slow down again. Also, my voltage seems to be a little lower than normal on a relatively new battery. Alternator maybe? I fear that this leaking water (like in the statement above) may be a cause for the problem, because sometimes the water seems to leak down the front pillars by the windshield and onto/into the dash somewhere. I know this cant be too good since there are all kinds of electrical goodies underneath there. If anyone has any feed back about this or my other problem, it would be much appreciated. If there are any helpful threads that may have already discussed these issues, please post them- for Im not a very good thread searcher myself.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know anything about 2nd gen sunroofs...

As for your 2nd problem, that's a classic sign of a bad alternator.

Well it turns out my electrical problem was an alternator...has fun changing that out in a Kangaroo parking lot.

As for the leaking....I have located 2 drain holes in the front of the sun roof track and they are not clogged. Are there any drain holes in the back, if there are I am unable to locate them. Also, I found where the front drain holes move the water to under the vehicle....strange system Toyota has got there. And last, I hope, is there a way to restore the rubber lining around the sunroof to help keep water out?

Thanks in advance
