Weekend Project - Get her up to speed for more trips..
Did a few trips in my Runner but nearing getting out of the Military and will be putting about 5k on the truck in the nexxt few months.
So, here's my list of recieved and shipped parts that will be here for Saturday
Ball joints - just uppers for now
Shocks - All 4 Superlift 2 inch lift in the front, 3 inch in rear
O2 sensor
Fuel Filter,
TPS - replacement
Vent visor's - IN Channel;-)
Plugs - Factory Denso's baby
Got some otehr crap too and just got a new windshielf put in last week.
Have to put my bodylift off for a bit but only other thing i will be doing is flushing the radiator, then cleaning it with some old expansion stuff my dad used to do. Hope to get it tinted before I start all the driving as well and maybe get my CB installed but that's it for now till I secure a job, or sell my car which is for sale on ebay, if you want a completely badass done Stang that has did 187mph on the Autobahn, mine is for sale, it's not as fun here in the states
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT
Once the car sales and I get my job settled, IE find one;-) I'll be deciding on Longtravel or SAS, but here in Florida, SAS doesn't seem to fit my bill;-)
oh, and my damn A/C just went out Got to put that on the list but thankfully most of my traveling will be done in the winter, hence the vent visors

Psh, 5k in a few months, that ain't nothing on these 2nd gens. I've done 20k in my '95 the past 5 months (8k in 3 weeks, the rest just normal travel). Save for a coolant leak and a rusted out fuel line she runs like a top. Took a look at the spark plugs today, good feeling I got to see how healthy those plugs looked.
How much was that superlift? I REALLY need new shocks all around, but I only need them to last me 3ish years till I get a real job.

Wasn't a lift, already have that, but the Shocks were 140 out the door, 4wheelparts is having a pretty big shock sale for the lifted setup or regular
I've done about 5k since April, but it needs these little maintanence items

I'm going with a Roger Brown, up in the air between a 1.5 inch or a 2 inch, will decide that as soon as I decide what engine I'm going with, which will be chosen around 1 November
Bodylift will be ordered right around that time.
All my parts didn't come in, soo, did the plugs, weathertech inchannel ventvisors, and cleaned it up again, but that's it. Got my two front shocks but not my two rear's so decided to wait, soon I'll get it done though

Well not all my parts came in but I did what i had with the exception of ball joints, got spacers coming;-)
Weathertechs inchannels are installed, plugs, and o2 sensor all installed, fuel filter is in as well as two of the shocks, the rear lift shocks were on backorder but they have shipped now.
I'll do BJ spacers, shocks, and fuel filter then call it done for a little while soon

Update, still haven't gotten my rear shocks but went and did fuel filter - about 20 min's very easy.
Then the two almost three hour job of removing the damn oil cooler, replacing those two gaskets, I'm pretty stoked to get it done but I did find a cheat, just remove the heat shield if you ever have to do it, makes it WAY better While I was in there I took off my front skidplate, and guess what I found.
The reason my A/C hasn't been working My bottom idler pulley was off and laying in there, not a good thing, but I'll have to check and see if when engaged my compressor is still turning or not, but this could be a good thing
I Also took off my front and rear swaybars, just said screw it, it's florida, not like there's twisties here, ahaha. Once i get my BJ spacers in - oh year ordered those since I didn't before hand and still waiting on the rear shocks I'll go get some flex shots, got a spot I might hit up tomorrow and see if I can see a difference as I lifted rear tire pretty early IMO so maybe find out if it was worth it.

Well haven't updated in a while but little bit done
Since the last post
Here's some pic's with some description along the way though
Not quite stock but pretty close, flexing it and letting my daughter use it as a bouncy gym.
This past summer, nothing done to it other than some performance mods:
Few little lifts then painted rims black, lasted about 2 hours, new rims and tires were in the back of the truck at this point, got them for cheap while looking for tires for my stock rims haha
This is my state until yesterday, 285"s small lift and some pre lift flex. Small lift was torsen crank and Eibach 1.5 inch lift springs
As of yesterday did a 3 inch in the front and 4 inch in the rear, not driving it as my trackbar relocation kit didn't come with bolts, got the bolts today and will get it all bolted up and take some current pic's tomorrow before I get my kids hopefully.
Here is one of the MANY reasons why I have the 4Runner:
Daughter caught the first fish of the day, then my son, after that they just kept coming in

Looking good man! Does it sit fairly level? Looks like it has some rake to it, which btw is much nicer than the butt sag. I think I need to install some ball joint spacers on my 87, the rear OME springs are pretty much broken in now and im still about an inch to an inch and a half higher in the rear.

Few updates
Well, got my rack in day before yesterday and just got in from installing it, no pic's as it was dark. The 2 inch 4Crawler body lift came in prepping for hte engine swap, so it will go on soon. Have been wheeling with it a few times but at night, have some planned for Sunday, hope to get some pic's out of that one
Deleted the EGR system a while back as it was stuck open and was killign my idle and gas milage, deleted it and she's running much better and milage is going up too
Did'tn look how long it's been but lots of little things done including some new "pinstrips" from the trails

Update from June 2010:
Have the BL sitting here but have been UBER busy with my work and my kids, not to mention Iv'e been focusing on my 77 CB550 Cafe Build as I decided to keep it, should be running as of tonight
I almost sold the BL and the 4Runner in the last few weeks but my car is probably going to be parted and once I sell my Blower setup, I'll pay my small loan on the 4Runner off, and I'll then own it outright again, it will be hard to get rid of then.
I still have 2 engine options, one is my Forged 306 short block which I would build to around 300 hp with decent heads and run carb intially. Or this idiot i've been trying to work with to get this 95 Cobra setup, he's back and forth and right now he's wanting to trade my tranny out of my Car, and 1800 bucks for the his engine, trans, ecu, and harness, which I'm seriously considering, however I would need a tranny to go in my car before I couls ell it. That tranny is a T-56 Viper Spec with Carbon Fiber Guides and build to the "unbreakable" specs, it's a 5200 dollar tranny but I have miles on it...
I'm actually leaning towards just building my current block and selling my tranny to someone else - guy is just too flacky for me
I do plan on keeping the 4Runner now, probably order my Wet okales and get the windows tinted in the next few weeks as it's getting hot here in Florida now, and I still need toget that lower pulley for the A/C, and maybe plan on engine swap for the fall or Winter, alot of that will depend on how reliable I can get my bike.
Anway, kinda got on a little long winded rant there, Changes coming down the pipe, once the BL goes on, will be going to custom Rims and 35's as well so look for that in the next 3 months or so..

Big update late june last year
Welll, I like the idea of a paid off vehicle to get me ready for my purchase of my new house
Started hte body lift today, was a scorcher and then, got stopped abruptly by a Freaking HELLA thunderstorm, will finish tomorrow, pic's uploading to photobucket right now.
Will decide on the engine in the next few weeks to month, but want to make room for 35's or 36's or ultimately 37's, which is what I want after the SAS, so maybe 35's for now until after engine swap?
Here she is all cleaned up, washed it up REALLY good to get all the mud and crap off, so good in fact I found out that the front tires were put on backwards and painted black, will have to repaint them now...
Couple more Before pic's
Previously discussed Rash on the back passenger side, All marks on this 4Runner were put on by me i'll cover this up with some Bushwacker flares when I go bigger
Pic of my Saleen which is for sale right now...
