Speedometer issue

My speedometer just started acting up. I know the cable sticking is common, and some lube is a pretty easy fix, but mine's acting strange... It's ok up to about 30 MPH, then over that it drops to 0 if I'm accelerating or maintaining speed. If I start to slow down, it jumps up to about 5-10 under my actual speed. Is this likely the sticky cable or another issue?

sounds like your speedo head is dying. hit up a yard and replace it. thats my suggestion.

I'd certainly lube the cable before I went replacing things.

I'm going to remove the cluster and drive it a bit and see if the cable's moving properly first. I like to troubleshoot before fixing things
