92 - Slight Engine Knock

I just picked up a 92 (3.0L 3VZE) The truck is in GREAT shape, but has a slight engine knock. The knock is only present at certain RPMs, with certain levels of throttle applied. When I'm up on the highway running at hwy speed, it is non existent. I'm wondering if this could be a bad knock sensor, or bad throttle position sensor. Otherwise the truck runs fine and doesn't really seem to be lacking any power.

Please advise!

Thanks!

I would try the easy stuff first, maybe a basic tuneup followed by maybe a fuel filter. If that does nothing, then I would see if a tank of higher grade fuel takes care of it.

First of all, thank you for your reply.

I have recently changed the plugs, air filter, ran a can of seafoam through it (which DID...INSTANTLY eliminate any hesitation and sputtering...amazing stuff)....When I DO run the high grade (93 octane) fuel...it HELPS...but does not completely eliminate the problem. Thinking about trying new plug wires next, then maybe new rotor and cap.

Thanks again!
