Advice on parts for rebuild.

1986 4runner 22re w/IFS. I've never rebuilt a toyota engine before so I'm not real sure about the parts I wanna use. I've always believed in american muscle until I bought my first 4runner. The block is ready to be built. It's bored .040 over, and I'm going back in with a stock crank. I'm not looking to build a monster here, just looking for a good balance in top and bottom. So if you have any suggestions on rods (I-beam, H-beam), pistons (flat, dish, dome), cam (what size), valve springs, or anything else I'd like to hear about it.

I would go with a rebuild kit from Engnbldr. The best you can do with performance is all at the top end: head, cam and header. Engnbldr also has performance heads that are ported, polished, oversized SS valves and he has a few choices of performance cams: 270, 271C, RV etc...
