Black Out 2nd Gen Emblems
So I've looked around for some information and pictures of blacked out emblems on a 2nd generation 4runner. I've seen how the 3rd and 4th gens look, but there aren't any pictures of how they look on a 2nd gen.
Has anyone does this and have any pictures? I'm thinking of doing the two on the grille, and all of the ones on the back.
Thanks.

Are you talking about painting the emblems black or removing them?
I'm pretty good with Photoshop. If you post pictures of your rig I can doctor the photos so you can see how it'd look.

I want to spray paint the emblems with black paint and then put a couple of layers of clear coat on them. I will post pictures of my 4runner tomorrow when it is light out and I can take pictures. Thanks.

I didn't black out the SR5 or the Toyota but I thought this looked best with my color scheme with the Rhino Lining and everything.

Thanks Nodd for the help. I like the look, but I also like the black chrome that 2004runner has. I will think it over and I can always do it. If I don't like it I will just pull the emblems off a 4runner from a picknpull or something. Thanks for the help.

So I finally blacked out my emblems, I will have pics in the morning. How did you paint your chrome license plate cover? Did you just tape it off or remove the whole chrome part?

So here are my pics of the blacked out 2nd gen emblems. I used the plasti-dip spray paint which turned out really well. It was nice to use because if I messed up I could just peel it off and try again.
Here is the rear emblems
The front emblems
And some close ups

I taped mine up. It took some time to get around the letters just right but it was well worth it. I think I remeber doing it that way because taking it out of the tailgate was mroe work than it was worth. Your ride looks good though!

I think I'm going to just do the letters too. I'll give it a try and see if I like it. If not then I will just pull the plasti-dip off.

just an idea...but i think itd look better to also either get a matching black license plate cover or paint your existing one to match...
Looks great though, black goes better with your paint than chrome does

Yeah I have been thinking about getting a new license plate cover. I might just throw some black on there too or pick up a new one. The chrome never really looked good. Thanks for the compliment.
