poor throttle response when cold
My '90 T4R has poor throttle response when cold. It will rev up, but in order to do so smootly you have to apply gas slowly. Too quickly and there is hesitation. Also it is idling a little high at around 1800-2000rpm for the first few minutes it is running. However once warmed up, idle is correct and throttle response is perfect.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I am getting code 52 for the knock sensor from the ECU. I really don't want to tear off the intake manifolds (3VZE) to replace that sensor just to have the same thing happen. How can I further diagnose the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
