Highest Mileage Engine Competition!!!
It's been a long rainy, boring day at work so I figured I'd post the question of who has the most mileage on there 1st or 2nd Gen. T4R Engine (and still runs )
I'll start it off with my '87 22R-E with 263,000 (rebuilt at 210,000).

My 85 4runner has around 338,400 miles on it. Still has stock crank, pistons, rods, head, ect. It was pulled out when I bought it and the head was worked, new rod and main bearings and new rings. It's a trail only rig so it sits for a while sometimes before it gets started and it starts every time! It's probably the most reliable vehicle I have! Lol

Interesting post, I was wondering about this myself. I'm an original owner of a '91 4Runner w/ 22 RE engine, 5-spd. manual transmission. Everything is still stock. It's has 309,000 miles still running well. I should get a new car but just can't seem to part w/ it. Thinking about replacing the engine at some point. Any suggestion on a reputable shop that specialize in this kind of work? I live in Nor Cal.
Thanks

I'm at work, so don't know exactly.
If memory serves, my '87 has in the neighborhood of 222,222 miles.
2nd owner. As far as I know, only the head gasket & timing chain has been replaced by P.O. shortly before I bought it at around 214K miles.

So far most mileage goes to 85toyrunner with 338,000.
What amazes me is that the average mileage of those posted is 212,000 miles. Most vehices out there now a days crap the bed well before 200,000 miles. I would say that this thread is proof alone that these little Yotas are pretty tough to beat!!!
