85 with Fuel delivery problem....

Hey Folks,

The 85 22RE 4Rrunner that I picked up was missing a few items when I bought it a short while ago.

Missing and now replaced items were:
Transmission
Ignighter/Coil assembly
Alternator
Battery
Female lead for the O2 sensor.

With all installed the motor does crank, has strong spark but no fuel.
I did spray starting fluid into the throttle body and it fired right up.

I pulled the fuel rubber hose from the fuel hard line on the passenger side of engine comparment and it was DRY. There is 2-3 gallons in the tank. I don't hear the pump when I turn the key - should I?

Fuses are all good.

Aside from pulling the fuel pump, what else should I try to remedy this problem?

Much thanks in advance for any and all advise!
Norm - High Desert

If you jump the +B and Fp terminals on the engine check connector it will bypass all the interlocks and apply power to the fuel pump.
