ok changed fuel pump but i came to find out the original one had the lines cut an the replace it with another an ran some rubber hoses to the pump an engine. i bought some sea foam an was wondering if that could fix my problem still sputtering an will not accelerate right when i give it gas.

If any one has had this happen to them or thinks they have an idea whats wrong let me know please

have you eliminated the possibility of a vacume leak?

if the junk in the tank got though the strainer and made it through filter then it could clog a injectors and cause a problem i would suggest that pull them out and clean them really good. there are how too videos on youtube.

If this helps the problem doesnt totally fix it you may want to invest in new injectors.
If cleaning the injectors does not help the issue make sure the MAF and the TPS are calibrated and worrking proper.
If all that is good it may be possible that the CPU has shorted but unlikely the 4runner CPU is known to be really good. so i hope the injectors are the issue.

I sometimes get moisture in my fuel lines (usually when the temp starts changing, and freezes overnight) It'll do the same thing until it's up to temp, or at least been running a few minutes. Go get some HEET (yellow bottle I think) and dump that in your tank then top it off with gas.

i just put so sea foam in it earlier an it started to run a bit better. But it still feels like it is hesitating to speed up.

that is a great point! i forgot about moisture, but unless his fuel was very diluted he would have big time sputtering with water in the fuel.
If he is just having big power loss then i would still lean to plugged injectors
