noobie help please?

hey guys and gals i got a 86 yoter i got from a friend the motor was blown it was a 22r got a 22re from my buddy changed dist. intake ofcorse and manual fuel pump etc ....i was fireing it for the first time it was turning over then all of sudden i was getting some clicking noise thought it was the starter the clicking was coming from the starter relay put a different one in same click click and nothing wont turn over bi passed the starter it worked im stuck no rig i rally need help thanks!!! it means a lot dont mind my spelling

So if I'm reading this correctly, you can't start the truck normally with the key? When you try the starter realy just clicks? You replaced the realy and still more clicking and no starting?
