I'm about to grab a complete, drivable, rust free, '86 2wd Pick-Up with a good 2.4RE for 500 bucks anyway and could drive it awhile before yanking the motor and parting the rest out. (They're both Automatics, so maybe not even have to swap flywheel?) OR, I know of a complete (with ECU/exhaust/harness/etc) low mile junkyard 22RT TURBO for $550. Any opinions on which route to go ? Thanks in advance ya'll !

Man, really bringing a thread back from the dead.
I would probably just buy the 2WD truck for the motor and have spare parts for your vehicle.
22RTE does not really make that much more power and parts are much more difficult to find or more expensive.
I think the 3.4 swap would be the best option if you have the money and time.
