94 4runners-engine swap, or front end swap? pats for sale as well
ok, i have two 94 4runners. identical in all but color, and a sunroof. both 4x4 with auto tranny and 3.slow v6. my tan one, has great body drivetrain ect, but the lift i put on( prolly wrong) screwed up my tie rods balljoints and cv shafts..as well as destroying my diff (the collars/flanges the cvs bolt on are broken off) now, the black, has a great everything except a blown head gasket and badly warped and cracked heads..should i swap my tan motor out to the black...or just replace my tan front end with the black ones. also planning on buying the 4 inch rough coutry lift for 800 bucks that has the shcoks and diff drop all included. any better cheaper lifts? im looking for mostly a show truck, with offroad capabilitys. nothing hardcore at all. any suggestions appriciated! btw if annyone needs a part for their 2nd gen we can work something out. i have a whole truck!

So you want to know if you should put the black front end on the tan truck, or the tan engine in the black truck right?
I think changing the front is going to be less work, Just dont crank your torsion bars this time. The spacers with stock Tbar height should get you about 2 inches of lift. Thats enough to run 33s, and with stock gearing and that auto tranny, thats as big as youre gonna wanna go.
And make sure that both diffs are the same gear ratio, but if there not, just swap the rear diff too.
However, if youve got the means to pull a motor, could start off fresh again with a non molested truck.

as of today, swapped my ball joints and a control arm out, took out the diff and cv shatfts, and all 4wd components. working on cleaning up everthing, replacing cvs while i have it out, and will intall everything on my tan one when my 4inch rough country lift comes in. does anyone have old 33s i could buy? even if pretty bald. the inch just doesnt cut the look i want. im also preping the black one for a SAS this fall, and replacing head gasket over the summer slowly. the tan is running on cranked torsion bars, and no front spacers. no front shocks yet either..and i dont have means to pull motors so im changing the gasket int the engine bay...PAIN IN THE ASS haha.

Yea just the top of the airbox it's the metal piece u see on top. Maybe trade for some brand new bj spacers?
