Haha, yea... still breathing. I saw your build thread, it looks really nice.

Good to see you’re still around. From what I can tell, this whole forum just died. Too bad, it was a cool site.

I'm still here occasionally... too many projects to be on the forum every day.

I was the drooling high schooler back in the day LOL

Seems like when you 4 sold out, the classic section died

Anyone else I missed who may still be around? I wish this forum grew and was more active.

Anyways, just thought I’d stop by and remember the good ol days.
I check in every now and again. Clearly not often enough to reply to PMs or mentions on time, but I get around to it.

I miss the Bastard and I miss yacking with you guys. I thought about starting another 1st gen, but then I sat in one and discovered I'm not nearly that flexible anymore. I'm working on an Excursion build right now, family wheeler/dirt road camping kinda thing, and I'm plotting on an 80 series or maybe full size Bronco next. Maybe a GX470. But I don't think I see another 4Runner in my future at this point.

Forums in general died as people moved to FB. But starting to see a shift back as the fb groups get overloaded with repetitive posts.

Been watching some videos on the new bronco (have one reserved) and it reminded me of our Moab trip. And somehow here I am too. I hope you and your family are doing well. I regret not having been more adventurous. Also miss forums. I'm sure I'll stick my head in again sometime....

Damn I forgot that was my icon. Lol...

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

I kinda miss the old runner days too. It was always cool wheeling with Bill and posting here. I had a newer Tacoma for a while but was tearing it up with my wheeling style. I sold out completely and ended up with a ‘15 4 door wrangler and started building it like crazy... it’s better fitted for a family and my style of wheeling anyways.

If I ever get another runner it will be a brand new one with all the plush goodies and will likely never see dirt.

True, it seems that even Jeep forums are dead for the most part. Bummer. I don’t do Facebook so it’s only forums for me.

Yea, I miss my runner at times. It was light, nimble, cheap, and I didn’t care if I hurt it. I knew the thing inside and out and it was easy to work on. I would have gotten another one but I wanted something a little newer, more power, and was a better fit for kiddos to ride in. A 2 door runner didn’t fit that at all.

You're not wrong. Facebook groups have their place, but web forums are so much better for knowledge base kinda stuff.

I've thought about it. But I discovered how much more fun it is to drive a rig I actually fit in and I'm gonna have a hard time going back...
