so ive been bought a truck with a rebuilt motor alittle bit ago and the guy said he parked it because of an oil leak... well i took it apart and the mechanic who rebuilt it used silicone around the cork gasket and i figured thats what was making it leak....
i fixed that and got everything ready to go... pulled my motor and put this one in. got everything connected and reaady to go. this motor hadnt started in 4 years so i excpected a fight. it started right up on the 1st crank! i was so happy until i smelled somthing........ on the passenger side timing chain cover there is about a 1 inch gap where i dont think there is any gasket.
the oil spewed out of it and i lost about a quart in maybe 15 sec.... god i hate some people. i really want to go slap whoever rebuilt it.
so... i started to take the front apart at about 7 or so and it got dark so i had to stop... this picture was takin at about 6 or so when my hopes were so very high... hopfully everything will work right after this.
wish me luck tomarrow!!!!!
