Clanky 4WD

I picked up a 90 4runner for dirt cheap. It runs and drives like a new truck only it's real rusty. Anyways, I'm having trouble narrowing down a 4x4 problem. Something is grinding and clanking in 4wd when the truck decelerates. It doesn't matter if I'm in 4L or 4H.
I've checked all the fluids and it's all topped up.

I don't really know where to start looking. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Must not have been used in a while. The noise is gone now and the 4wd still works.??

Glad to hear the noise went away! But you should also grease your drive train and check your U joints.
